Copyright Policy

Bulldawg Digital Media Studio maintains a strict policy for the use of copyrighted materials

  1.  We will not include any copyrighted music, video clips, photos, clipart, or other elements in a video production without a properly secured license prior to the start of the production.

  2.  The content of all live streams must be approved before the stream begins.   If any copyrighted music begins playing during an event, the stream audio will be muted.   If there are multiple copyrighted elements present, the stream will be ended.

  3. All licensing fees are the responsibility of the event producer and will not be covered by Bulldawg Digital Media Studio.

Please note:

  • "Fair Use" is not a defense against copyright infringement and cannot be used to justify streaming copyrighted content.

  • Music that is used as part of a performance cannot, by definition, be claimed as "incidental music" and does not justify streaming copyrighted content.

  • Facebook and YouTube use algorithmic content validation to determine copyright infringement that does not require a "claim" or complaint to tag a video as violating copyright law.  Repeat violations can result in channels being deleted.

  • The COVID Relief Bill passed in December 2020 contains 2 additional pieces of legislation making the streaming of copyrighted materials a felony and creating a new agency called to Copyright Claims Board which makes it easier for copyright owners to sue for damages.
