COPPERAS COVE – A new principal has been named to lead Clements/Parsons Elementary School.
Tuesday, the Copperas Cove ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Mrs. Robin Grabitz as the new principal at the campus.
Grabitz’s campus administration experience includes serving as Curriculum Instructional Specialist at Bellaire Elementary School in Killeen ISD from 2009-16. Since 2016, she’s served as an assistant principal in both Killeen and Belton ISDs.
Most recently, she served as assistant principal & dean of instruction at Audie Murphy Middle School on Fort Cavazos.
“As a Cove native, I am elated to join the CCISD family,” Grabitz said. “It is a true honor to be selected to lead the team at Clements/Parsons Elementary. I am dedicated to serving the staff, students, and parents of CPE.”
Grabitz is a Copperas Cove High School graduate and a military spouse who has more than 20 years of experience in public education.
“Mrs. Grabitz really stood out when we began our search for a new campus principal,” said Dr. Joe Burns, Superintendent of Schools. “I am confident that her experience across multiple levels of schools, and in multiple districts, will serve our students and families well as she comes home to Cove.”
She will begin her role leading Clements/Parsons Elementary immediately, in order to prepare for the coming 2024-25 school year.
Trustees also unanimously approved the renewal of an agreement with Central Texas College for dual credit programs, as well as the addition of a program with Ranger College which includes expanding these opportunities in Career & Technical Education.
“This new agreement with Ranger College will allow us to provide more dual credit opportunities for our students,” Burns said. “With additional opportunities in CTE, we can continue to improve how we prepare students for life after graduation.”
The board also approved a contract with Singleton, Clark & Company, PC Certified Public Accountants to provide the district’s annual financial audit. The approved contract will provide a $3,000 savings to the district on its required financial audit.
During the meeting, trustees also approved school lunch prices for the 2024-25 school year, which will not increase from the previous year. Breakfast will remain free for students.
The Board of Trustees is next scheduled to hold its regular workshop and meeting in August. The regular workshop is scheduled for Noon on Aug. 12th with the regular meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13th.
Both meetings will take place in the Board Room at the CCISD Service & Training Center located at 408 South Main Street.
